Where to See Art in Bolzano
The places where the art of Bolzano is open to everyone are its public institutions: Museion, Museo Archeologico dell'Alto Adige, Castel Roncolo. These are permanent collections: what they hold stays there, and a visit can be planned months ahead.
Permanent collection or temporary show
They are two different experiences. A permanent collection tells you what a place is and changes slowly; a temporary show borrows work and lasts a few months. If your time in Bolzano is short, the permanent collection is the choice that never disappoints, because it does not depend on a calendar.
Museums and private galleries work differently
